RIO LINDA, CA – The Knights will be diving into the new season with high hopes for another great year full of victories.
Last season, Rio Linda finished the regular season with an 8-3 record, eventually losing to Antelope in the first round of the playoffs. Included in last seasons victories, was a very impressive 35-0 blowout win over Foothill High School.
Fortunately, Knights head coach, Michael Morris said he has a well-rounded group coming back, with plenty of leadership.

Stephen Andrews, Knights senior quarterback said that he and the other captains have already established leadership early on.
“We like to take control and mentor the younger kids on the team,” Andrews said. “It feels good being a leader and being on top of the food chain.”
Alongside of this, Rio Linda has a supportive community that stands behind the team. This aspect creates quite the atmosphere during each home game. With that being said, Morris agreed that Rio Linda is obviously an enjoyable place to work with.
“I’m coaching kids who I coached their dads,” Morris proudly. “We got 2nd and 3rd generation kids out here.”
As a result, players like Leonard Scateboo, senior fullback for the Knights, have been following the the team since they can remember.
“It’s finally me, and [it’s] definitely a kick,” Scateboo said addressing his lifelong goal of playing for Rio Linda.
The Rio Linda Knights start this season on week one at Roseville High school versus the Tigers.
